Aso oke is a handwoven cloth from Nigeria, usually of cotton. The thread was traditionally spun by women, whilst the weaving of the textile done by men. It is woven in narrow strips which are then sewn together to form a larger piece of cloth.
This weaving is a time consuming skill that is passed on within families. It produces bold, geometric and striking patterns that are perfect for home decor and in particular cushions and pillows.
